Mario DiFiore, phD

Mario DiFiore, PhD, is Senior Assistant Dean, Director, and Professor of Finance and Business Economics at Fordham University’s Gabelli School of Business in New York City. A five-time award winner for teaching excellence and innovation, he leads initiatives in financial wellness and Student Managed Investment Funds and serves as Chairman of the SMIF Responsible Investments Investment Committee.

Mario brings extensive experience across financial markets, economics, behavioral finance, compliance, and risk. He previously served as Co-Global Head of Compliance Training for Deutsche Bank’s Commercial and Investment Bank and held senior positions at the Federal Reserve, including Senior Representative for International Relations and Assistant Chief of Public Information.

An international educator and consultant, Mario has taught across North America, Europe, Asia, the Middle East, and Africa. His research explores asset allocation, investor behavior, cognitive abilities, and the fundamental and behavioral factors that influence financial markets and market regime changes.

Mario also serves as Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Financial Compliance and is the author of Market Minds and Money Moves. He holds a BA in Economics, summa cum laude, and an MBA from Fordham University, as well as a PhD in Financial Economics from NEOMA Business School in Paris.

At The Academy of Finance® in New York City, Mario serves as Lead Global Markets Instructor, bringing academic rigor, economic research, and decades of financial-market experience to the Wall Street Master Class® curriculum.
